Scrybe - an evolved online calendar
Watch the video very very cool. Very pretty, but well thought out design. It even has a sync to paper format with a foldable 8 day planner. You can also seamlessly integrate todo lists, and just watch for the way it shows you the surrounding context for the day that you're in. Very nice.

SpinVox - Why don't I know about this already?
SpinVox is a UK startup which you can have instead of your own networks voicemail. When you receive a message it performs Voice-to-text on it and sends you a text telling you you have a new message but also telling you what was in the message! It can also be set to send an e-mail, publish live to your blog and so on. pretty Nifty.

US defence contractor looks for quantum leap in radar research | The Guardian | Guardian Unlimited: "They designed an exploding cigar to kill Fidel Castro and hired fortune-tellers to fight the cold war. Now the US military is taking its war on terror where even Albert Einstein feared to tread - into the baffling world of quantum mechanics. Lockheed Martin, a main US defence contractor, thinks it can exploit research on the fringes of theoretical physics to build the ultimate radar, which could see through anything, from buildings to solid earth."
